Welcome to the Bridgwater Parent Support Group
for families affected by Autism and Aspergers Syndrome
Hallo and Welcome!
We are a support group based in Bridgwater for parents & carers of children & young people affected by Autism or Aspergers Syndrome.
The Bridgwater Parent Support Group meet at the Sydenham Children's Centre, Fairfax Road, Bridgwater. TA6 4LS.
We meet on the second Wednesday of every month (term time only), 10am - 12 noon. We're very informal and friendly, so just pop in!
This is a chance for parents to share information and experiences over coffee and biscuits. If you have just been told that your child is or may be autistic, or even if you have been living with autism for years, you may be suprised to find that you are NOT ALONE!
Don't worry if your child has not been given a firm diagnosis of autism or Asperger's Syndrome yet, or if you have been told that your child has 'autistic tendancies' rather than autism as such. And if you are coming for the first time, feel free to bring a friend or one of your child's grandparents with you. All are welcome!
Various professionals with an interest in autism sometimes attend these mornings, both to meet parents informally and to discuss issues of general interest.
Creche facilities for pre-school children are available at the Family Centre. Please contact Susie David for details.
Our next meeting is: Wednesday 13th June 2012 10am until 12noon
At: Sydenham Children's Centre, Fairfax Road, Bridgwater ***Janet Steward is attending from Bridgwater College to answer any questions***
